The exam lasts 2 1/2 days.  On day 1, a four-question essay exam is administered. A scaled score of 80 is required.  The score must be filed with the board no later than March 1, preceding the July exam or October 1, preceding the February exam.  If an applicant takes the March MPRE and is sitting for the July bar exam, scores may be accepted by petition. Attorneys in other jurisdictions may be admitted on motion if they have practice 5 of the last 7 years and can show a bonafide intention to practice law in Iowa.
